The ever-widening gap between the number of cases that are filed in the courts across the country and the number of judges to hear them has been a sad reality of the Indian judicial system.

More often than not those on the receiving end will be those knocking on the doors of the judiciary seeking justice. With the ever-growing backlog of cases, it might sometimes take years before it comes up for hearing and several more for the verdict to come.
