Sharon Kanter, Deputy Style Director: Sure, it was nearly impossible to see her eyes under that massive wide-brimmed hat when she walked the red carpet, but who cares?! This was a MOMENT, and I loved it. She and her stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn pulled this pale green — though it was seriously hard to tell it was a soft pastel — crystal-covered look straight off the couture runway, which debuted only several weeks ago in Paris. Let’s all remember she consistently turns to the Grammys red carpet to rock some of her most memorable looks, so did anyone expect anything less than something majorly dramatic?

Brittany Talarico, Senior Style Editor: I for one am thrilled to have a front row seat to the Gagassance. The multi-hyphenate star has been serving high-fashion look after high-fashion look as she rakes in the awards for the chart-topping ballad “Shallow” which she wrote for her role in A Star Is Born. She transformed into a rock goddess on the Grammys red carpet selecting a metallic Celine gown designed by her friend Hedi Slimane. I love that she chose a dress that did not overpower her — she looked confident, glam and like a disco ball in the best possible way. She also made the dress her own by transforming it from the mini that first hit the runway to a gown with a thigh-high slit, all thanks to help from the label and her powerhouse styling duo Tom Eerebout and Sandra Amador. Pile on some chunky Jimmy Choo platforms and more than 100 carats of Tiffany & Co. jewelry and this look deserves a spot on top of every best dressed list.

Ariana Grande in Zac Posen

Kaitlyn Frey, Style & Beauty Assistant: Ok, so Ariana Grande may not have actually worn this gown to the Grammys, but she surely intended to, I’m still counting it as my favorite look of the night. I love how the first-time Grammy Award winner made a splash during the show by unveiling her would-be red carpet dress (custom Zac Posen, which took the label a month to make) with multiple Instagram photos before switching into sweats. The Cinderella-inspired ballgown, massive diamond choker and studs were so stunning, I almost wish she hadn’t decided to skip out on the show. But Ariana’s epic debut of what she planned to wear was so shockingly fantastic, the pop star hands-down became my best dressed pick.

Miley Cyrus in Mugler

Colleen Kratofil, Style Writer-Reporter: Miley’s Mugler black tuxedo was a refreshing breather from the pink ball gowns and high-shine dresses that took over the Grammys red carpet. The singer brought an understated rocker-chic glamour by going sans shirt in the oversize fit. And her effortless side-swept waves was a great finishing touch to the pared-down vibe. Overall, she looked confident and cool on the carpet and for the Grammys, that’s the way to do it.
