Brest and Marseille are in talks over a loan move for France International left-back Jordan Amavi (28), according to a report from L’Equipe. Amavi has been loaned from Marseille, with whom he is tied to a contract until 2025, to LaLiga side Getafe. But he has so far this season failed to prove instrumental for the Azulones, who currently sit in 17th place in LaLiga standings. The former Nice and Aston Villa man played only 4 league games with the Madrid-based club. He was sent off against Elche in LaLiga gameweek 12 after receiving back-to-back yellow cards inside six minutes.

Amavi is expected to end his spell in Spain and be recalled temporarily to France, with Brest very keen on picking him up in an additional loan move. It is reported Getafe won’t stand in the player’s way. The Brittany outfit are currently looking for a left-back after sanctioning a loan move for Finnish player Jere Uronen to Bundesliga bottom-placed outfit Schalke. Brest are currently 17th and are in desperate need of experienced players to steer the club away from a relegation to Ligue 2. Stade Brestois host bottom-side Angers tomorrow in an all-important Ligue 1 game-week 20 match.
