PWInsider is reporting that WWE has filed a trademark for the name “Trent Seven.” The filing is for “goods & services.” The Nov. 1st filing lists the numerous ways WWE can use the British Superstar’s name.

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”

Trent Seven debuted for WWE in December of 2016, as part of the WWE UK Championship Tournament. He and Tyler Bate held the WWE NXT Tag Team Championships, and he’s a regular presence on WWE NXT UK.

WWE files trademarks for Superstars on the roster pretty regularly, as a way to maintain the Intellectual Property rights. This doesn’t necessarily mean Seven is getting a push, but it does mean WWE is interested in retaining ownership of his name.
