With the McMahon family now directly overseeing the entiring of WWE programming as one, more effective unit, Triple H made an appearance on this week’s episode of WWE RAW to confront one of his old proteges — the Kingslayer himself, Seth Rollins.

Triple H returned to inform Rollins that Superstars were no longer entitled to obligatory championship rematches, and thus would not get his chance to face Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship — at least not without earning it first.

“The Game” went one step further, however, provoking an already angry Rollins by questioning if he even deserved a rematch for the title he recently lost to his former SHIELD brother-turned-bitter enemy. After asking the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion what happened to “the old Seth Rollins” who took what he wanted, rather than “asking” for opportunities, Triple H gave his one-time WrestleMania opponent a chance to prove himself, in a singles match against “The Almighty” Bobby Lashley.

After a back-and-forth match that saw numerous bouts of interference from Lashley’s mouthpiece Lio Rush, Rollins would eventually disqualify himself by attacking both men with a steel chair, and leaving Rush lying with a Curb Stomp after a brutal assault.
