John Cena is headed to SmackDown this Friday night.

WWE has announced that Cena will return to SmackDown on this week’s episode. Following his surprise return at Money in the Bank and his appearance on tonight’s Raw, it will be Cena’s third appearance on WWE programming this week.

Cena confronted Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank after Reigns successfully defended his Universal Championship against Edge. Reigns vs. Cena is expected to take place at SummerSlam next month but hasn’t been officially announced.

Cena is kicking off tonight’s post-Money in the Bank episode of Raw and will explain his motivation for returning at last night’s pay-per-view.

Cena’s Money in the Bank appearance was the first time he’s been on WWE programming since facing “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania 36 in 2020.

This Friday’s SmackDown is taking place at two different locations. In addition to the show being held at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio, there will be multiple matches from the Rolling Loud music festival in Miami, Florida.

WWE confirmed today that Bianca Belair’s SmackDown Women’s Championship defense against Carmella on Friday’s SmackDown will take place at Rolling Loud Miami. WWE has also announced that a match between men’s Money in the Bank winner Big E and Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews is set for Rolling Loud. WWE didn’t specify if Crews’ title will be on the line.
