You can always count on family to make the holidays all the more memorable. As Jennifer Aniston dished on her upcoming film Office Christmas Party, the actress also recalled the odd Christmas eve tradition that her family made her do each year.

“When I was a kid, they used to make me belly dance,” Aniston told Entertainment Weekly. “On Christmas Eve. My dad’s side of the family is Greek, so I would dress up as a little Greek girl and then on Christmas, after taking belly-dancing classes, I would do that. It had nothing to do with Christmas, even. It was just, ‘Let’s humiliate Jen on Christmas.'”

While Aniston has since given up her belly dancing days, those skills did come in handy when she battled Nicole Kidman in a hula/belly dancing competition in the 2011 comedy Just Go With It.

Don’t look for Aniston to show off her dancing skills in Office Christmas Party, though. She plays joyless CEO Carol, who tries to close down her hard-partying brother (T.J Miller)’s office branch. Rather than go down without a fight, her brother decides to host a huge office Christmas party to try to save his and his co-worker’s jobs.

It was a part Aniston couldn’t wait to play. “I’ve known about this movie for so many years,” she told EW. “So I always was joking throughout the years, “There better be a part for me in there.” And all of the sudden [Will Speck] was like, “Hey, so we’d like you to play a part,” and I was like, “Really?” It started off as a little cameo. It was supposed to be just a small little thing.”

Olivia Munn, who also stars in the film, chimed in, saying, “And then they go, ‘Wait, Jennifer Aniston is willing to be in the movie? What if we call it a cameo and just extend it and extend it?’ Day 15, she thought it was a cameo still.”
