As we noted earlier this week, a big main event is currently being advertised for the 2018 WWE Fastlane PPV taking place in February, featuring AJ Styles defending the WWE Title against Shinsuke Nakamura, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in a Fatal Five Way Match.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, if the Fatal Five Way Title match does indeed take place at WWE Fastlane, that would indicate none of the men listed in the bout are winning the Royal Rumble Match in January, as their ticket to WrestleMania and a Title shot would have already been punched with the Rumble win.

There had been speculation that John Cena might be challenging AJ Styles for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 34, with the idea being that Cena is trying to break Ric Flair’s World Title record. However, The Observer reports Cena will not be facing Styles at ‘Mania as Cena will be involved in a “much bigger match”. Plans for Cena are reportedly being finalized now, and should be clear in the next few weeks.

As for who Cena might be facing at WrestleMania 34, the options for an opponent that would be considered major for WrestleMania include The Undertaker, Goldberg, Hulk Hogan and/or Batista. Hogan might be a longer shot at this time considering his current status with WWE, and the other names mentioned could be more viable options.

On a related note, it’s being said a few top WrestleMania 34 angles might be shot at the Raw 25th Anniversary special airing in January.
