The Authority & Daniel Bryan Open RAW
This week’s post-Survivor Series edition of WWE RAW, which comes to us live from Indianapolis, Indiana, opens with a brief video package focusing on the WWE debut of Sting at last night’s pay-per-view.
From there, we shoot live into the arena where Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL welcome us to the show on commentary. After that, “King of Kings” plays as Triple H and Stephanie McMahon make their way to the ring, hand-in-hand, as the announcers explain that “Team Authority” lost at last night’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event.
The music dies and the boo’s immediately spread throughout the arena. Stephanie says she expected this type of reaction tonight. She talks about how none of us know what it’s like to be a leader, or how to accept responsibility for your actions. She says that’s exactly why they’re out here tonight. She says Team Authority would’ve won had it not been for one man — Sting. The fans erupt at the sound of hearing Sting’s name.
Stephanie says because of Sting they are no longer in charge. She says because of her father, Vince McMahon, the only person who can give them their power back is John Cena. Steph starts pretending to cry as she tells everyone that she hopes we all have a happy Thanksgiving. Triple H says we love this don’t we. He asks if we want to see his wife cry. HHH calls us bullies.
HHH goes on to remind us that we should be careful what we wish for. He says no one can handle the power. He questions who is going to make the tough decisions now. Who is going to have the power. He mentions John Cena, Dolph Ziggler and Sting. Each guy gets a pop when their name is mentioned. HHH questions why Sting decided to stick his “painted face in their business.”
Triple H goes on to say that without The Authority in power, he gives this place maybe two or three weeks before it dies. He says they handle more than anyone could ever imagine. HHH promises that we will beg for them to come back. As soon as he says that, we hear familiar music.
That’s right boys and girls, Daniel Bryan is “Yes!” chanting his way down to the ring to a loud pop. The entire arena in Indianapolis is doing the “Yes!” chant along with Bryan.. Bryan gets in the ring and does the “Yes!” chant right in HHH and Steph’s face, and literally the ENTIRE crowd is doing it with him, all at the same time.
HHH and Steph go to exit the ring. HHH stays on the apron, while Bryan gets right in his face and does the “Yes!” chant literally right in his face. HHH and Steph go to walk up the aisle, but Bryan jumps out of the ring, runs up to them, stops them by standing right in front of them in their faces in the aisle, and again does the “Yes!” chant. As HHH walks off, Bryan goes down to where Steph is in the aisle and does the “Yes!” chant right in her face as well. Bryan gets back in the ring as HHH and Steph begrudgingly leave. On that note, we head to a commercial break.
Daniel Bryan Gives Team Authority Members Their Orders For Tonight
When we return from commercial, Daniel Bryan is still in the ring — by himself — leading everyone in Indianapolis in one giant “Yes!” chant. He gets on the mic and says it feels good to be in this ring tonight. He says having the ability to kick The Authority out of the ring felt good, too.
Bryan goes on to reveal that for tonight, he has been put in charge of running RAW. He brings out Team Authority. Seth Rollins’ music hits and out he comes with Joey Mercury, Jamie Noble, Kane, Rusev, Lana, Luke Harper and Mark Henry.
D-Bry promises that he’s not going to strip anyone of their titles or put them in unfair matches. He says he’s going to start with Seth Rollins. He says tonight, Rollins will be teamed up with two other WWE Superstars to take on John Cena and Dolph Ziggler. He says it will be a three on two handicap match. Rollins interupts him. Rollins says big picture wise, whether he likes it or not, he is still the future of this company. He asks Bryan who he’s going to team him up with.
Bryan says he’s not teaming him up with anybody, the WWE Universe is. He says they’ll get to choose their partners via the WWE App. Team A. Mark Henry and Luke Harper. Team B. Mark Henry and Kane. Team C. Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury. He says voting starts right now. Rollins gets pissed and leaves with Noble and Mercury.
Daniel Bryan now turns his attention to Corporate Kane. He tells him that he’s no longer going to be Director of Operations. He tells Kane his new title is Director of Food and Beverage. He says instead of Corporate Kane, he’ll be Concessions Kane. He asks someone to bring out a tray and a hair net for Kane. Out comes someone who hands him a tray full of popcorn and hot dogs. He tells Kane to get to work, he’s got some food to sell. Kane leaves.
Now he switches his focus to Rusev and Lana. He tells Rusev he has some options. One is that he’ll be in a company-wide battle royal where he’ll be in the ring with every other WWE Superstar and the winner will be the new WWE United States Champion. He says his other option is to come in the middle of the ring, have a giant American flag lowered and in front of everyone, be forced to recite the pledge of allegience. He and Lana leave all pissed off.
Now he focuses on Luke Harper. He tells Harper that he’ll be in one-on-one action by himself tonight. He says he’s thinking about “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose as his opponent. Harper leaves dejected.
Left by himself now is Mark Henry. Daniel Bryan says he was approached by a big guy backstage to ask for revenge from two years ago at WrestleMania. He says it’s Ryback. So Mark Henry will take on Ryback tonight. He mocks Henry by saying “that’s what I do!” He tells Henry that the match with Ryback is happening right now. Henry makes his way to the ring but from behind, Ryback runs out and attacks him.
