Tonight on WWE 205 Live, the first two matches to determine who will enter The Fatal 4-Way Match against WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy at Royal Rumble take place as Kalisto battles Lio Rush & Drew Gulak takes on Akira Tozawa.
A Tested Rivalry Continues:
There is certainly no love lost between Akira Tozawa & Drew Gulak. The two Superstars have engaged in a long and bitter rivalry, the most recent chapter seeing Tozawa team up with another adversary – The Brian Kendrick – against Gulak & Gallagher.
Tonight, the stakes for both Superstars go beyond personal. The victor will earn a spot in the forthcoming Fatal 4-Way Match challenging Buddy Murphy for The WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Royal Rumble. Will The Stamina Monster take the first step toward reclaiming the title, or will the prospect of Gulak shaping a better 205 Live for 2019 propel him to championship glory?
Lio Rush’s Ultimate Test:
Lio Rush had a memorable 2018 after debuting in WWE 205 Live and serving as Bobby Lashley’s hype man on RAW. The Man Of The Hour enjoyed a winning streak in singles competition that was ultimately snapped by former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander. However, Lio Rush has recently gotten back on track and has set his sights on The WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
First, Rush has to best another Superstar who had an epic 2018 in former Cruiserweight Champion & Lucha House Party Member Kalisto. Although Rush has defeated the likes of Akira Tozawa & Noam Dar, Kalisto has the speed to match The Man Of The Hour and the experience to outsmart him. However, Rush’s aggressive side has shown recently, bringing a level of unpredictability to his in-ring repertoire.
