Tonight’s NXT episode closed with Velveteen Dream making his return and saving Tommaso Ciampa from all four members of Undisputed Era. Velveteen Dream continued his storyline with Roderick Strong, including wearing tights that said “Call me up Marina” and had Dream, Marina Shafir, and Strong and Shafir’s son airbrushed on them.

Ciampa, Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne faced off with Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish) in the main event of tonight’s NXT. The match ended in a disqualification when Strong interfered and attacked Ciampa. O’Reilly and Fish laid out Riddle and Dunne, and Undisputed Era spray painted a yellow “X” on Ciampa’s back.

The lights then went out and “2-5-20” appeared on the video screen. The date had been teased in two videos that aired last week. Velveteen Dream appeared on the top rope, fought off Undisputed Era, and hit punches on Strong before Strong fled.

Strong defeated Velveteen Dream for the North American Championship on NXT’s USA Network premiere in September. Velveteen Dream was supposed to get a rematch in October, but the match didn’t happen due to Dream’s injury.

On NXT two weeks ago, Keith Lee defeated Strong to win the North American title.
