Like father, like daughter! Lenny Kravitz, 54, and daughter Zoë Kravitz, 30, teamed up for Tumi’s new campaign — and for the first time ever, they star in the same video together. (Warning: You’re going to want to book a vacation immediately after reading this post.)
The duo posed for the Tumi A3 Collection launch – the latest design iteration of the Alpha Collection — on location in the Bahamas, where Lenny’s maternal grandfather was born.

“This was an opportunity to do something interesting and it was about relationship and travel, and history, and we wanted it to be about my grandfather, and where it all began,” Lenny tells PEOPLE about shooting on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. “And it’s about me showing my journey of where she came from, and us taking this trip together to experience that together.”
In the photos and accompanying video (the first they ever shot together), the two take in the scenery and legacy of the island as they travel through the town where Lenny’s grandfather used to live with their backpacks and small suitcasessuitcases in tow.
“I thought it’d be nice to go down to the end of the island and show you a bit of our family history, pay a little respect to our elders and the people who came before us. I think we’ll get a lot out of it.” Lenny says in the video.
They journey to the now-abandoned house that his grandfather grew up in overlooking the ocean, where they reflect on his legacy.
“I had no idea what you were going to do and I really had no idea that you’d be this hard of a worker,” Lenny tells Zoë. “You’re taking it to the next level.”
“But I think that’s how you raised me and that’s how grandma raised you and I think that’s how grandpa raised her,” says Zoë. “But everyone has taken it to the next level in their own way, allowing the next person to take it even further.”
“That’s the success really, that you pass it on to the next generation and the next generation takes it to a place that the one before it did not,” Lenny explains. “That was grandpa’s dream.”

Traveling is something that Lenny and Zoë have always done together.
“We go all over the world; she did a world tour with me when she was 14 or 15,” he recalls in his interview with PEOPLE. “It was amazing because I had a teacher come on the tour for her schooling. It was really amazing to see and something I wish I could have had as a kid.”
“[When I studied] European history for instance, just seeing foreign stuff didn’t interest me. I’d look on a map [and think] ‘Where is that? I’m never going to go there.’ And here she was standing in front of the Colosseum, I remember that day. [She was standing] with the teacher, with the book, and the teacher says, ‘See that? That’s that.’ Being able to experience it, it was just amazing, so that was a very inspiring time.”

The tight-knit duo really are as close as they look in the video.
“I’m a dad, but we’re friends,” he shares. “We’re very close. We talk about everything. We don’t hide things from each other. We talk like friends.”
They joke like friends too. For instance, Zoë posted a recent Instagram photo of herself modeling with her pants worn low, jokingly writing in the caption, “Crack (S)killz.”
Lenny commented on the post writing, “Runs in the family.”
