Prior to last night’s post-Survivor Series episode of SmackDown LIVE from the Canadian Tire Center in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, WWE taped matches for future episodes of NXT TV on the WWE Network.

Among the matches taped were No Way Jose vs. Eric Young, NXT Women’s Champion Asuka vs. Nichole Matthews and NXT World Champion Samoa Joe vs. Tye Dillinger.

No Way Jose, who comes fresh off of his dance-off with SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon at NXT’s debut Madison Square Garden event, would come up short in the bout with the former TNA World Champion. Worse yet, after the match, Sanity hit the ring and beat him down. Nikki Cross hit a missile dropkick to end the segment.

In the match featuring the NXT Women’s Champion, who successfully defended her title over former WWE main roster title holder Mickie James at the TakeOver: Toronto special over the weekend, Asuka defeated Nicole Matthews. Matthews was a local female talent from Canada who was squashed by the NXT Women’s Champion in a basic showcase match.

Finally, in his first match since making history as the first-ever two-time NXT World Champion, Samoa Joe, who won the title by defeating Shinsuke Nakamura at the aforementioned Toronto live special from Saturday night, beat Tye Dillinger in the main event of the evening.
