Irina Shayk‘s famous for strutting down every major runway from Versace to Victoria’s Secret. But now, she’s leaving her footprint on fashion by designing her own pieces.
The Russian supermodel, 33, who stars in The Kooples’ Spring/Summer 2019 campaign, also collaborated with the French brand to create her own collection of stylish handbags appropriately named the “Irina.”

As a busy mom to 1-year-old daughter Lea De Seine, who she shares with boyfriend Bradley Cooper, Shayk designed the leather top-handle (available in multiple colors, textures and prints) as a multi-use accessory.
“Every time you run out of the house you always forget your mirror,” Shayk told Vogue UK, noting that encased in the bowling ball-shaped bag is a concealed mirror. “My bag is also soft enough that you can put it in your luggage and not worry about damaging it. I travel a lot – and I take a lot with me! – so that was important.”
The opportunity to partner with The Kooples came to be after fellow model and close friend Stella Maxwell (who also stars in The Kooples campaign and designed her own bags) recommended Shayk for the gig.

“[She] said, ‘Oh, my friend Irina would be perfect,’ so that’s how I was brought into The Kooples.” Shayk said to Glamour UK. “I think it’s really special!”
The internet couldn’t stop buzzing about Shayk ever since she was first to lead a standing ovation for Cooper and his costar Lady Gaga‘s moving “Shallow” performance during Sunday’s Oscars. But don’t expect the supermodel to reveal many details about her private life with the actor and their daughter.
“I think it’s all about personal choice,” she told Glamour UK this year. “Because my work requires me to be out there, I just decided my personal life will be quiet. That’s why it’s called personal, because it’s something for you and your family, and I feel happy with it.”
