The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will be taking place this Sunday night, and for the first time ever, the event will feature two Royal Rumble matches. The usual 30-man Royal Rumble match will see participants compete to eliminate their opponents by throwing them over the top rope in order to earn a championship match at WrestleMania. However, the second Royal Rumble match will be the first one to exclusively feature female competitors. With over a dozen spots for the match still available there has been a lot of speculation as to who may enter the match as a surprise entrant. However, Ronda Rousey is now claiming that she will not be one of them.

TMZ Sports recently caught up with the former undefeated MMA star as she made her way through the airport. She revealed that she was on her way to Columbia in order to begin shooting a new movie that she will be featured in. Rousey then outright denied that she will be participating in the women’s Royal Rumble match this weekend. She told reporters that she has not put pen to paper towards any sort of deal with WWE or to appear in the Royal Rumble match as of yet. She said that she will be working on filming the movie until mid-February, thus confirming that she will not be able to even make an appearance during the show.

Obviously, some fans are still convinced that Rousey will be involved in the match and that Rousey is simply trying to ruin her surprise debut in the match. Even though Ronda has denied rumors of her appearing in Philadelphia this Sunday, Triple H and Ronda Rousey have been spotted eating dinner together, and recent reports have claimed that a deal between the two sides is very close to being reached. Whether she debuts in the Royal Rumble match or not, it definitely seems likely that she could still be on her way to WWE for a match at WrestleMania this April. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens during the women’s Royal Rumble match this weekend.
