Monday Night Raw featured an interesting segment on the show last night wherein the planned confrontation between WrestleMania opponents Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar never took place, and Reigns went down to the ring to cut a promo on his own. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, the show did indeed go through some heavy re-writes prior to airing last night. Several details concerning some segments on last night’s show (mostly the confusion as to whether or not Brock Lesnar did not attend last night’s Raw) are still being determined by several different outlets at the moment, but there were definitely some changes made to Raw before it aired last night.

A solid Raw, although a bit confusing. Seems like Angle may be Rousey’s partner, a 3 way for the IC title might go down and the tag titles are at a standstill. However, some of the show was rewritten very late today. Working on gathering more details for tomorrow.

Case in point, one segment that did not air on Monday Night Raw yesterday was a planned angle involving the female stars of the show. On the Wrestling Observer Radio program, Dave Meltzer claimed that the show was originally set to feature a segment which would have seen Royal Rumble winner Asuka finally announce who which champion she will be challenging at WrestleMania in April. Instead, it looks like the company may wait until after Charlotte Flair defends her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Ruby Riott at Fastlane before they have Asuka announce who she will be facing. Previous reports from the Observer have stated that Asuka will probably challenge Flair for her title rather than Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship.

Two former WWE Superstars who several fans cited as having a ton of potential during their respective time with the company are Wade Barrett and CM Punk. Barrett achieved success as the leader of the Nexus back in 2010, but he never elevated above the midcard after the group disbanded. CM Punk won the WWE Championship on a few occasions before he controversially walked out of the company back in 2014. The two will now be coming back to television soon, but not exactly for pro wrestling. PWInsider now reports that Punk and Barrett (real name Stu Bennett) will host the upcoming third season of Ultimate Beastmaster on Netflix. Both former WWE Superstars have since confirmed their involvement in the show and filming for the series will begin later this year.
