Ligue 1 side Lyon have this evening announced the contract extension of Ivorian winger Maxwel Cornet until 2023.

The 22-year-old signed for Les Gones from Metz in January 2015 with much fanfare attached to the deal at the time.

Cornet has grown to frustrate OL fans with his lack of precision on the ball, but has also shone as the hero in a handful of key performances, notably in the Champions’ League last season against Manchester City.
