L’Équipe report today that Leicester are the first club to have made an offer for Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, who has emerged as one of the most sought-after targets of the upcoming winter transfer window following his impressive performances at the World Cup with Morocco.

The offer is said to consist of a base fee of €20m, along with an additional €10m should the Foxes qualify for the Champions League. Angers are hoping for a higher fee, with negotiations set to drive that figure up.

The 22-year-old has been with Le SCO for the last season and a half, having joined from third-tier Avranches and continued his quick rise to the top as he featured in the Atlas Lions’ run to the semi-finals in Qatar. With his current club sitting rock bottom in Ligue 1 and currently on an eight-game losing streak, it appears unlikely that Ounahi will be staying for much longer, not least with the calibre of clubs taking an interest.
