Sexual assault cases involving children had gone up by over one lakh in 2016 across the country but what is shocking and sad, is the fact that only 229 of them were adjudicated upon by the trial courts in that year.
This is alarming.
The bench led by Chief Justice Dipak Mishra asked the Registrar Generals of the high courts across the country to collect and collate data on pending cases related to sexual offence on children lodged under Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POSCO) Act.
As per the Act, such cases have to be decided within a year after the trial courts takes congizance of the charge sheet.Click Here: Maori All Blacks Store
