Baldwin, 21, told PEOPLE exclusively about Upton’s allegations at the amfAR Gala at Cipriani Wall Street in N.Y.C. on Wednesday night, “Well, I think that what she’s doing is using her platform correctly and using her voice to bring awareness to the kind of shady and dark side of what we do,” Baldwin said. She added, “Because it happens, and it doesn’t happen like that to everybody, but unfortunately it happens to a lot more people than you think.”
Ultimately, the model concluded, “I think what she’s doing is amazing and I think that being able to speak out and speak up is important.”

Upton detailed the alleged sexual harassment in a new interview with TIME involving Marciano, 65, which she says began after her first day shooting a Guess lingerie campaign on July 25, 2010: “He forcibly grabbed my breasts and started feeling them – playing with them actually.” According to TIME, Photographer Yu Tsai said he witnessed the harassment Upton described and corroborated details of her claims.
Marciano denied the model-turned-actress’s accusations to PEOPLE, saying Upton’s allegations were “absolutely false.”
PEOPLE has reached out to Upton for comment but has yet to receive a response.
