A couple of weeks ago, WWE decided to call four of the very best talents on the NXT roster up to the main roster. NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Aleister Black, and Ricochet have all already started competing on Raw and SmackDown. They will continue to wrestle in NXT for at least a few more weeks since they are competing in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic this year. However, the belief is that they will all likely be joining the main roster permanently shortly after the tournament concludes. Since the call-ups were announced, several fans have been wondering if losing such big names will end up hurting the NXT brand. However, Aleister Black does not seem to believe that this is the case at all.
NXT’s live event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania last night saw The Velveteen Dream retain his North American Championship in the main event. The other Undisputed Era members ran down to the ring to beat Dream down, but Ricochet, Black, Keith Lee ran down to even the odds. After they sent the heels packing, Black took a microphone and talked about some of the incredible talent in NXT that will be around after he and Ricochet leave. Black cited The Velveteen Dream, Matt Riddle, Keith Lee, Punishment Martinez, and Dominik Dijakovic as names that NXT fans should watch over the next couple of months. Although he is set to leave soon, the former NXT Champion also assured the fans that NXT will always be his home.

Kofi Kingston was originally supposed to get his singles match against Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at the Fastlane event next weekend. However, Vince McMahon had Bryan’s opponent for Fastlane changed to Kevin Owens on SmackDown this past Tuesday. During the E&C Pod of Awesomeness podcast, Edge and Christian talked about the main event change and voice their approval for the decision. The reason why they are both interested in the idea is because they believe that WWE has decided to save Kingston vs. Bryan for WrestleMania 35 in April. Plenty of fans have expressed their desire to see Kingston win the gold at the “Grandest Stage of Them All,” so it will be interesting to see if Edge and Christian’s ideas are correct.
“[Owens] and Bryan will have a great match. It also allows Kofi to go to ‘Mania and get an amazing moment.” said Edge who also noted that WWE likely made the move in order to avoid fans seeing Kingston vs. Bryan on three pay-per-views in a row.
