As seen on WWE Raw this week, a historic Gauntlet match, won by Braun Strowman, took place and has been the talk of the wrestling world since Monday night.
The bout featured Roman Reigns vs The Miz vs John Cena vs Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor vs Elias vs Braun Strowman, and was won by The Monster Among Men. The bout was notable in that it set two major Raw records as the longest match in Raw history, at a little under two hours, and Seth Rollins spent the most time in a TV match in Raw history, lasting 65 minutes in the bout.
The match was also a major ratings success for Raw, and you can read more about that win at this link.
According to PWInsider.com, the Gauntlet match was the brainchild of none-other-than Vince McMahon himself, as he was responsible for not only coming up with the idea of the match, but he also approved the match’s record-breaking length.

The report furthers the match idea “came out of nowhere” from Vince, much like an RKO, and surprised many in WWE as these types of matches are not necessarily the types of bouts Vince is in favor of.
