WWE has officially confirmed that EC3 will face Kassius Ohno on next week’s episode of NXT, which will be the final go-home show prior to NXT Takeover: Chicago next weekend at the Allstate Arena. The bout was booked after EC3 interrupted a backstage photo shoot, taunting K.O. for not being a legit superstar, leading to a challenge being thrown down for next week’s show.
Bow Down to “The Mighty”
After picking up a dominant victory on this week’s episode of WWE NXT, Nick Miller and Shane Thorne – formerly known as TM61 – will now be known as simply “The Mighty”. This is actually a decision that was made and reported on months ago, but for whatever reason the rebranding was pushed back.
The name is actually a tribute to their time on the independent scene where they were known as The Mighty Don’t Kneel (or “TMDK” for short), a moniker under which they won the GHC Tag Team Championships for NOAH on two occasions, made appearances for NJPW, and were named the Tag Team of the Year by Tokyo Sports in 2013.
As far as @WWENickMiller & @ShaneThorneWWE are concerned, EVERY #WWENXT tag team should kneel down to #TheMighty! pic.twitter.com/G74VhwtMD5
