After ending SCU’s run as a tag team, AEW Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks will look to keep their momentum going on next week’s Dynamite as they defend against the Varsity Blonds.

The Bucks successfully defended their titles for the fifth time since winning them last November with their Wednesday win over Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels, ending their run as a team due to a stipulation Kazarian and Daniels had put on themselves months ago. The Bucks have yet to lose a regular tag team match since February 2020’s Revolution pay-per-view.

The Blonds (Brian Pillman Jr. and Griff Garrison) have won their last nine regular tag team matches dating back to March. This will be their first meeting with the Bucks.

Next Wednesday’s show will also feature the return of NWA Women’s Champion Serena Deeb as she defends against Red Velvet. Deeb has been out of action since February with a knee injury.

Also announced for next week: Christian Cage will face Matt Sydal after Sydal answered Cage’s open contract challenge, and Anthony Ogogo will look to remain undefeated in his young AEW run when he faces Austin Gunn.
