Country singer Kacey Musgraves may have traded music for movies to walk the red carpet at the 2019 Oscars, but she still brought her signature style with her.

The 30-year-old Grammy winner walked the Academy Awards red carpet in a pink voluminous Giambattista Valli tulle gown, with tiered skirt, flared sleeves and bow brooch at the waist. She accessorized with high-shine metallic clutch, Neil Lane jewelry and wore her hair slicked back in a low pony.

On E! Live from the Red Carpet, she talked about her couture creation from the fashion house. “I have been a fan of their works of art forever, so it’s an honor to get to wear this dress. It’s like, ‘Make way for the dress. I need about 10 feet.’”

Her evolving style comes courtesy of a recent collaboration with stylist Erica Cloud, who said that – like Musgraves’ music – the star’s style is true to her roots while being unapologetically herself. “Kacey is smart, fun, and creative, and I like to represent that with her wardrobe,” Cloud told PEOPLE. “We wanted her clothing to be a nod to the past but grounded in the future, like her music … She’s so talented that she doesn’t need a lot of bells and whistles.”

The star is no stranger to awards herself; she walked away with multiple Grammys for Golden Hour, including best country album and the night’s big prize, album of the year.

For the red carpet, she chose a nude tulle Valentino Haute Couture gown that nodded to her award-winning album: The bodice of her gown resembled the fan on the Golden Hour cover.

“I love this dress — it immediately struck me because it reminded me of the fan that was on my album cover,” she told PEOPLE on the carpet.
