Last night’s edition of Monday Night Raw took a bit of a departure from the usual format as it featured a 7-man gauntlet match that lasted for over half of the show. Out of each participant, Seth Rollins, who entered second, lasted the longest at one hour and five minutes. He also defeated Roman Reigns and John Cena during the match. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Rollins got both of those wins because there are reportedly plans to have Rollins challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship after WrestleMania. Reigns has been heavily rumored to win the title from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, and his first feud afterwards could be against his current best friend.
Rey Mysterio shocked fans last month when he made a surprise appearance in the men’s Royal Rumble match. Although he did not win the match, most fans assumed that Rey would be coming back to WWE at some point. Even though he has since confirmed that he will be wrestling Jushin “Thunder” Liger at an upcoming New Japan Pro Wrestling event, Mysterio has now confirmed that talks between him and WWE are still ongoing. “Right now, the conversation is still in the open with WWE so I am hoping that when the time is right and we sit down to talk about the future of Rey Mysterio with WWE, if there is any future with Rey Mysterio, it is going to be good for both parties as much as it will be good for WWE as it will be good for me. I think it is in the best interest for the both of us.” Mysterio said to Inside the Ropes. Mysterio just may show up on WWE television or in the cruiserweight division at any time.
One former WWE talent that the company had big plans for at one point was Ted DiBiase Jr. Unfortunately, those plans did not work out for the son of WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase, and he was later released from his WWE contract. The “Million Dollar Man” himself recently sent out a tweet of a video featuring his son promoting the “Price of Fame” documentary based on his father. During the video, an interesting comment was made by the former WWE Tag Team Champion when he teased a possible return to WWE someday. DiBiase’s father even suggested that his son could be on the way back to take care of “unfinished business” in the original tweet.
A possible @WWE comeback? Unfinished business? In this new video from “Five Reasons to Watch #ThePriceOfFame” series, @TedDiBiase has an interesting message and question for the #WWE Universe. See our film on @iTunes at https://t.co/eqt1ZQ97DG pic.twitter.com/gxfKjekVCd
