Troyes have confirmed the signing of young OGC Nice midfielder Vincent Marcel on a season-loan agreement.

The 21-year-old has joined the Ligue 2 club from Les Aiglons for a deal that specifically does not include any option to buy Marcel.

The Guadeloupe-born midfielder – who has 2 France U-20 caps to his name – moves to the Stade de l’Aube in the hope of regular first team football, having featured in just two Ligue 1 games in 2017/18. He did, however, score the crucial equaliser for Nice in Amsterdam against Ajax in last year’s Champions League third qualifying round.

Marcel- a youth exponent of Le Havre before his move to the Allianz Riviera in 2015- was not in the first team plans of Patrick Vieira, behind the likes of Pierre Lees-Melou, Wylan Cyprien and Danilo but it is hoped a successful season in the second tier of French football will prolong and develop his future with Nice.
