As initially reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport and reiterated by Gianluca di Marzio, Argentinian forward Mauro Icardi’s proposed move from Inter Milan to AS Monaco is blocked.

Monaco had been waiting all of today for a response from the player, but did not receive one and are now ready to close a deal for Jean-Kévin Augustin (RB Leipzig) instead, much to the annoyance of Inter Milan representatives.

Anger towards Icardi from Inter also stems from the fact that the club received an email from the player’s lawyers at 21:43 local time last night demanding that the player be reinstated in the first team and to receive €1.5m in damages for excluding him from professional activities in the first place.
